Elisa Guietti is an Italian artist based in Edinburgh. She studied Fine Arts in her hometown of Turin, and Children’s Illustrations in London where she lived for about three years. She’s interested in art for kids, simple and colorful, as well as more complicated subjects dealing with the social and cultural environment.
Her paintings interpret urban landscapes across Europe, often including natural elements. She believes that art is an invaluable instrument of expression and communication that can really make a difference in people’s lives. In the past year her research has been focused around the relationship between society and art, leading her to work towards an experimental art project about the European Crisis and the immigration. She works with acrylics, oil and digital but also loves to experiment in different materials like newspapers, wax and PVA.
